Students and staff at St. Bernadette School raised $8,500 for a school in Africa last year. Retired Superintendent of Education Nancy DiGregorio travelled to Uganda in the summer to deliver the funds and visited St. Bernadette’s on January 31st at a Western Day assembly to update students on the school’s progress. Last summer Nancy DiGregorio found herself travelling halfway around the world on a mission of mercy.
Laden with flip flips and school supplies, DiGregorio – a retired superintendent of education for the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board – was delivering a cheque for $8,500 to an orphanage in Southwest Uganda to build a school.
