‘Braves send hope’ to struggling studentsIn recognition of World Suicide Prevention Day (September 10th), students at St. Jean de Brébeuf Catholic Secondary School came together to inscribe messages of hope on the sidewalks surrounding the school.
Everyone at the school – whether student, teacher, Educational Assistant, secretary, or custodian – was given a piece of chalk and invited to post a personal message of hope to the many individuals at risk of, or affected by, suicide.
The initiative, undertaken by the ‘Brave shoulders’ mental health support club, is part of Brébeuf’s continued effort to raise awareness of mental health issues and decrease the stigma around mental illness.
