St. Therese students celebrate gift of life "This is the day that the Lord has made... Let us rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24)
Grade 1 students at St. Thérese of Lisieux Catholic Elementary School took their Religion lesson outdoors on Monday, September 10th to celebrate the promise and beauty of the dawning day.
The lesson started off with a video viewing of a song called This Is the Day that the Lord has Made. This was followed by a Grand Conversation on why every day is a gift from God. After developing an anchor chart together, the class proceeded outdoors where they used coloured chalk to write words and draw pictures about the importance and beauty of each day.
Each Day...
Is like a work of art that’s yet to be designed,
an empty canvas waiting for the dreams that fill your mind.
Your talents and your strengths are like the colours you can use,
to paint the pictures of your life in any way you choose.
They’re sure to be original, and all the world will know...
that inner personality your words and actions show.
