St. Thérèse students run to create “a world without cancer”St. Thérèse of Lisieux Catholic Elementary School joined millions of students and educators around the country in the annual Terry Fox School Run on Thursday, September 27th to raise funds for cancer research. Teachers, staff and students demonstrated their support by lacing up their sneakers and taking to neighbourhood streets to carry on Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope. Stickers were worn in memory of Terry Fox and others who have been stricken with cancer. Terry Fox’s message of hope was integrated into the arts, language and media curriculum throughout the week to raise awareness of cancer and the need for cancer research. The week ended with the school run which netted more than $1400 for the Terry Fox Foundation. Praising students and students for their outstanding effort, Principal Linda Chittick called it an inspirational day as “united in one dream, we come together to create a world without cancer. “
