On Monday, December 4th, the HWCDSB Community for Christian Meditation hosted a reunion evening for those who have attended an overnight Christian Meditation retreat over the last two years. It was a peaceful evening of prayer, learning, reflection, food and spiritual friendship.
Dr. Josephine Lombardi prepared a beautiful Advent reflection entitled, "Preparing with Great Hope." She spoke of the deep desire we each have to be met, to be healed and to be reconciled. She pointed out that Jesus is in the restoration business and that He wants to give us the peace and healing we so deeply seek.
Josie acknowledged the obstacles in our way, but stressed the importance of recognizing and trusting in our Identity and endless value as sons and daughters of God in order that they not overwhelm us. No matter what you might think, no matter what you might have done, no matter what you might have been told ... no one is unloved, no one is unwanted. You belong in God's family and your life has meaning and purpose. It is our identity as children of God that protects us and sees us through the ups and downs of life.
