St. Bernadette 60th Anniversary Celebration

Event Date: Apr 24, 2018

St. Bernadette Catholic Elementary School will celebrate its 60th anniversary of Catholic education with a mass and reception in the school gymnasium on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Mass will be celebrated by the Most Reverend Douglas Crosby, OMI, Bishop of Hamilton.

A cordial invitation is extended to families, alumni, and staff, past and present, to attend an Open House at St. Bernadette School on Tuesday, April 24 from 6;00-9:00 p.m. as students and staff commemorate the school’s Diamond Jubilee.

The original St. Bernadette School was built in 1958 to serve the rural areas of Dundas. By the 1980’s, the school had outgrown its four-classroom facility and a new, larger school was opened in 1991 to accommodate the growing needs of the Dundas community. At its peak, St. Bernadette housed close to 500 students. Enrolment today is approximately 270.

The school continues to be a vibrant part of the Dundas community and holds an important place in the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board’s rich history.
