HWCDSB recognizes World Suicide Prevention Day, Monday, September 10, 2018.
This year’s theme is “Working Together to Prevent Suicide.”
Safe and healthy Catholic learning communities include creating awareness of and offering education on the topic of suicide as one form of prevention. Suicide occurs across all economic, social and ethnic boundaries, and across all ages.
Students continue to be encouraged to seek support from a trusted adult (teacher, staff member, school social worker, child and youth worker, etc.), or to call Kids Help Phone Line at 1-800-668-6868, and in crisis, COAST Hamilton at 905-972-8338.
A message of hope will be reinforced: that help for those who struggle is available.
