Over the past couple of years, there has been a measurable shift in how children get to and from school.
In the coming months, a group of engaged parents and City of Hamilton officials, along with representatives from the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board, Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board and Lura Consulting, will be developing an Active and Sustainable School Travel Parent Engagement Strategy
which will be influence how we approach school travel for years to come.
The Active and Sustainable School Travel (ASST) Parent Engagement Strategy project is part of Hamilton’s comprehensive approach to school travel. More students, parents, and workers using ASST means fewer cars on the road, less pollution, improved safety, and increased physical activity.
To help with the development of this strategy, the partners are hosting a workshop for parents and members of the community. The workshop will take place on Thursday, March 21 from 6:30 – 8:00pm at the Nicolas Mancini Centre (44 Hunt St, Hamilton, ON L8P 1C7).
As a key stakeholder, this will be your opportunity to learn more about the project, shape the key messages, inform the project direction, and connect with other engaged community leaders and parents/caregivers of Hamilton youth on this important topic.
