HWCDSB Chairperson Patrick Daly was recognized by the Ontario Association of Parents in Catholic Education (OAPCE) with a 2018-2019 Honorary Lifetime Achievement Award.
The award, presented at the 80th Annual OAPCE Parent Conference on April 6, recognized Daly’s ongoing support of OAPCE and long-time commitment to Catholic education, both locally and across the province.
“OAPCE recognizes leaders that are making extraordinary contributions to enrich our Catholic communities,” said OAPCE President A. Crudo-Perri in a news release.
“Their accomplishments are a testament to the power of inner motivation and how the level of belief and calling to help others is the strongest level of commitment to enrich the Catholic community with their God-given talents at home, school and church.”
Daly has been a Trustee with the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board for 34 years and is serving his 28th year as Board Chairperson.
“He inspires all by the example of his life, the integrity of his character and the depth of his faith,” commented Director of Education David Hansen.
At the provincial level, he serves on the Board of Directors and is Past President of the
Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association (OCSTA) where he has played a pivotal role in protecting and advancing the interests of publicly funded Catholic education.
An advocate for parents in Catholic education, Daly has long touted their important and “irreplaceable” role.
