St. Agnes students put health into high gear at a fun and interactive session hosted by the school’s Health Action Team on April 12.
Grade 3-8 students enjoyed fruit and spinach smoothies thanks to a “smoothie bike” on loan from the Cardinal Newman Peer Mentors. The bike uses pedal power to run a blender mounted on the handlebars.
The activity taught the students about healthy eating and physical literacy all at the same time, says Principal Jim Mauro.
He adds that physical activity and eating healthy are important for good mental well-being.
