“It is finished.”

Jesus, arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane the night before, is condemned to death by crucifixion. Mocked, beaten and crowned with thorns, he is led through the streets of Calvary under the crushing weight of his cross. At Golgotha, Jesus is stripped and crucified.

On Good Friday, we remember the day Jesus willingly suffered and died on the cross as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins.

All elementary and secondary schools and Continuing Education centres of the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board will be closed on April 7, 2023 for the Good Friday statutory holiday.

Classes resume on Tuesday, April 11th.
