Wednesday, September 27 is Rowan’s Law Day. The day is named in memory of Rowan Stringer, the 17-year-old rugby player whose death resulted after sustaining multiple concussions.

“On behalf of the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board, I am honoured to announce that at its September 5, 2023, Board meeting, with much joy the Board of Trustees selected the Most Reverend Douglas Crosby, OMI, Bishop of Hamilton as the recipient of the Board’s 2023 Award for Distinguished Service to Catholic Education,” said Chairperson of the Board Patrick Daly.

While September marks the start of school, it also marks a special tradition for the grade 7 students at St. Matthew Catholic Elementary School. Since 2016, the school has been asked to paint a car for the Binbrook Fair Derby.
