St. Agnes Catholic Elementary Celebrates Mental Health with a Fun-Filled Olympics Day
On Friday, May 17th, the vibrant community of St. Agnes Catholic Elementary School came together for a day of excitement and well-being with their “Mental Health Olympics.” Organized by the dedicated Health Action Team and led by Principal Mr. Mauro, this event highlighted the school's commitment to mental health and physical activity, creating an atmosphere of joy and enthusiasm.
The day kicked off with a lively Opening Ceremony in the gym, where classes, each representing different countries, proudly marched in with their flags. The keynote speaker, Simoni Lawrence, a former TigerCat and current Brand Ambassador, inspired everyone with his insights on the importance of being a team player.
Students from FDK to Grade 6 enthusiastically participated in a variety of activities, including cricket, golf, javelin and shot put, basketball, volleyball, and MMA. The Health Action Team and other Grade 7 students expertly ran the stations, while Grade 8 students provided fantastic support to the younger participants. Special thanks go to our community partners: Soi Dogs MMA & Fitness for their exciting MMA sessions and CYO for their engaging cricket clinic.
The Catholic School Council delighted everyone by preparing delicious hotdogs for the entire school. Even a bit of afternoon rain couldn't dampen the spirits as students and staff enjoyed a memorable day filled with laughter and camaraderie.
Heartfelt gratitude to our generous funding partner, Charity of Hope, and our passionate Health Action Team for making this wonderful event possible!
