“For I have set you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you.” ~ John 13: 15
Holy Thursday (April 17, 2022) marks the end of Lent and the beginning of the Paschal Triduum, the three days of Easter which recall the passion, crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Holy Thursday is the commemoration of the Last Supper of Jesus Christ, where the sacrament of Holy Communion was first established and the priesthood was formally instituted. Following the breaking of the bread, Jesus then washed the feet of his apostles, commanding them to “love one another as I have loved you.”
Reflection
"When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. 'Do you understand what I have done for you?' he asked them." John 13:12
