St. Marguerite d'Youville Hosts Career Day for Grades 7 and 8

Students at St. Marguerite d'Youville Catholic Elementary School got a glimpse into their futures during a dynamic career day event held for grades 7 and 8. Organized by parent volunteer Mr. Florek, the event brought together a diverse lineup of guest speakers who shared stories, advice and encouragement from their professional journeys.
Students heard from professionals across a range of fields, including healthcare, criminal law, policing, professional sports, real estate, entrepreneurship, and the skilled trades. Among the featured speakers were Justin Chan, entrepreneur and owner of Cowabunga; NHL player Zac Rinaldo; and criminal defence lawyer Alex Valeri — all proud graduates of local Catholic high schools.
The overarching message shared by all speakers was clear: stay determined, believe in yourself, and never forget to appreciate the support of teachers and parents along the way, noted Principal Maria Trotta.
“Continue to follow your dreams. You can put your mind to anything if you stay focused. Keep your faith close to your heart and love and thank your parents.”
