As a result of the resignation of Patrick J. Daly, a vacancy exists for a Catholic School Trustee to represent Ward 7 in the City of Hamilton.
The Board of Trustees has approved that the position for Trustee for Ward 7 be filled by appointment at a Special Board Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
Qualified persons are invited to submit an expression of interest, a current resumé, and a script of their verbal presentation to the Board Office no later than 12:00 noon on Monday, August 25, 2025.
All qualified applicants will be invited to make a verbal presentation (maximum four minutes) to Trustees at the Special Board Meeting. Note: Applicants must submit the script of their presentation along with their expression of interest and resumé by the deadline above.
The qualified person who receives a majority of votes by Trustees will be appointed to the role. The successful candidate will be sworn in immediately following the selection process on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
To be eligible for appointment as the Catholic School Trustee for Ward 7, an individual must be:
• A Roman Catholic
• A Catholic school supporter
• A resident of the jurisdiction of the school board
• A Canadian citizen
• At least 18 years of age
• Not disqualified by any legislation from holding school board office
