Most Reverend Joseph Dabrowski, C.S.M.A.

The Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board joins the Diocese of Hamilton in welcoming The Most Reverend Joseph Dabrowski, C.S.M.A., appointed today by Pope Leo XIV as the 10th Bishop of Hamilton.

His Excellency, Bishop Dabrowski, will present his Decree of Appointment to the College of Consultors on February 2, 2026, and will formally take possession of the See at a ceremony to be held at the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King.

We extend heartfelt gratitude to Bishop Douglas Crosby, O.M.I., whose pastoral leadership has guided our Catholic school system for more than 15 years. His presence in our schools, parishes, and celebrations has been a blessing to generations of students, staff, and families.

As we prepare to welcome Bishop Dabrowski, we remain united in our shared mission:

“The mission of Catholic Education in Hamilton-Wentworth, in union with our Bishop, is to enable all learners to realize the fullness of humanity of which Our Lord Jesus Christ is the model.”

We invite our community to pray for both Bishops during this time of transition.
