When Faith Meets Pedagogy Conference

Last month, 30 teachers from Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board attended the annual When Faith Meets Pedagogy Conference, joining over 600 other teachers from across the province. The theme this year, “Stewards of Hope: Sharing Out Time, Talent and Treasure,” reminded all who participated that being 'Stewards of Hope' is a way of life. It is a way of bringing God into the centre of our daily life.

Delegates began their day with a keynote address by Danielle Campo McLeod, an award-winning keynote speaker, mental health expert and celebrated Paralympian. With a blend of humour, profound insights, and a genuine passion for her faith and greatness, Campo McLeod captivated the delegates, leaving a lasting impression as she encouraged everyone to embrace resilience, unlock their full potential and discover their "gold medal moments."

Delegates were then given the opportunity to chose from over 50 faith-based workshops offered throughout the day. The celebration of the Holy Eucharist also took place with the Most Rev. Ronald Fabbro, Bishop of London as Celebrant.

Catholic educators from across the province left the conference with joy in their hearts, a deepened sense of their personal faith and a stronger connection to their vocational call. The impact of this day will forever leave a beautiful mark on all those who participated reminding them of our call to give generously of our time, talent, and treasure, and to be joyfully engaged in discipleship in our school communities and wider community.

"As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace." I Peter 4:10
