On March 31, secondary school choirs and vocal groups joined together for one enormous jam session at St. Jean de Brébeuf Catholic Secondary School to celebrate the arts. Vocalfest was conceived in 2012 by the Secondary Arts Department Heads as a way to promote the Arts in their home and feeder schools. Over the years, it’s become a platform for music students throughout the system to come together and share their vocal talents and passion for the musical arts. And while musical genres on display ranged from Canadian hits to classic Rock, to classical and worship, each group shared a common denominator: impressive talent and dedicated passion. This year saw participation from St. Jean de Brébeuf Catholic Secondary School, Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School, St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary School, Cathedral High School, Bishop Tonnos Catholic Secondary School, and St. Mary Catholic Secondary School.
