St. Charles 40th Anniversary

St. Charles Adult and Continuing Education marked its 40th anniversary on Thursday, April 30, 2026, with a celebration rooted in faith, gratitude and community.

The afternoon began with Mass at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, celebrated by Father Joseph. During the celebration, Mr. Mario DiVittorio, Principal of Continuing Education, reflected on the significance of the milestone.

“We gather in faith and thanksgiving as we celebrate a truly meaningful milestone, the 40th anniversary of St. Charles, a proud school of the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board,” he said. “Guided by our Catholic values, this school has affirmed a simple but powerful truth: that learning is for life, that every person has dignity, and that it is never too late to begin again.”

Mr. DiVittorio also expressed his gratitude to those who continue to shape the St. Charles community.

“I am deeply grateful to the dedicated educators and support staff who serve the St. Charles community with compassion, professionalism and integrity,” he said. “Through their work, they have created a safe and supportive environment where adults are valued, respected and encouraged to succeed. I also extend sincere, heartfelt thanks to the 40th Anniversary Committee for their efforts in bringing this celebration together.”

Following Mass, guests gathered for a reception at St. Charles, where members of the community, past and present, had the opportunity to reconnect, reflect and celebrate 40 years of adult and continuing education in Hamilton.

The event offered an opportunity to honour the many individuals who have contributed to the life and legacy of St. Charles over the past four decades.
