On Dress Purple Day, Thursday, October 24, students and staff at participating HWCDSB schools will wear purple to raise awareness about every child and youth’s right to safety and well-being, and to celebrate communities that care for kids.
Ontario Dress Purple Day was developed by Ontario’s Children’s Aid Societies as an awareness campaign to highlight the role that adults and communities play in supporting vulnerable children, youth and families.
To support this important goal, Children’s Aid Societies have developed provincial classroom prevention resources to support teachers to engage with their students in conversations about safety and well-being in all aspects of their lives and their networks of support, and to acquire skills and attributes that lessen their vulnerability to harm.
