Settlement reached with CUPE, schools open for in-person learning

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are pleased to inform you that all schools of the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board will be open for in-person learning on Monday, November 21, 2022 after a settlement was reached today (Sunday, November 20, 2022) between the Council of Trustees Association, the Provincial Government and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE).

CUPE members – including more than 1,000 education workers at the HWCDSB – will report to work and assume their full duties and valuable responsibilities on November 21, 2022.

We wish to express our gratitude to our students, families and staff for your patience and understanding during these challenging times, and to all those involved in ensuring a successful resolution to the CUPE labour negotiations.
