A Legacy of Hope Takes Flight at St. Eugene
In the year 2000, St. Eugene Catholic Elementary School marked the Jubilee Year with a special art installation – a creative expression of faith and community that has adorned the school for nearly twenty-five years.
Last spring, inspired by that same spirit of celebration, the Student Council led a new project to honour the Jubilee once again, this time under the theme Pilgrims of Hope.
Each class received a wooden piece that, when assembled, would form a dove. Guided by the Catholic Education Week theme, students decorated their pieces with words, colours, and images that reflected hope, faith, and renewal.
Over the summer, these individual creations were carefully assembled into one unified artwork and installed in the school’s front foyer.
Now, as students and visitors enter the school, they are greeted by a vibrant new dove – a reminder that, together, the St. Eugene community continues to journey as Pilgrims of Hope.
