Student Trustees Klara Pasalic, a Grade 12 student at Bishop Tonnos Catholic Secondary School, and Joshua Canzio, a Grade 12 student at St. Mary Catholic Secondary School, were recognized by the Trustees of the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board at the June 2, 2026 Committee of the Whole meeting for their leadership and service throughout the 2025-2026 school year.

Throughout their term, Klara and Joshua worked to ensure student voices were heard at the Board table. Guided by a commitment to listening, understanding, and leading on behalf of their peers, they represented the interests and perspectives of students across the system.

Earlier this spring, Klara and Joshua presented their annual Student Trustee Report to Trustees at the May 5, 2026 Committee of the Whole meeting. Prepared in collaboration with the Catholic Secondary School Student Council Presidents, the report highlighted the many accomplishments, initiatives, and successes taking place across the Board's Catholic secondary schools while focusing on key priorities identified by student leaders.
