Each year, the last Friday of April is designated to recognize the hard work, dedication, and commitment of Educational Assistants across the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board.

On Friday, April 24, 2026, we celebrate Educational Assistants' Appreciation Day and acknowledge the important role Educational Assistants play in supporting student success and well-being in our schools.

Each day, Educational Assistants bring to life the special education philosophy of “Each Belongs,” supporting students with special education needs in reaching their God-given potential. Through their care, patience, and professionalism, they help create inclusive learning environments where all students feel supported and valued.

Prayer for Educational Assistants

Created by Andy Burns

God of blessings,
Today we give thanks for the gift of those who are called to
serve as Educational Assistants in the Hamilton-Wentworth
Catholic District School Board.
These dedicated women and men are visible signs of Your love
in our school communities.
Fill them daily with the strength, courage and perseverance
they need to minister to some of your most vulnerable sons
and daughters. Help them to know the Divine that dwells
within our hearts and to live this nature out. Please
encourage them by showing them specific ways that their
efforts are making a difference in the lives of those students
placed in their care and in the world.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Senior Administration and the CUPE Executive extend their sincere thanks and congratulations to all Educational Assistants for their ongoing dedication and service to students and school communities across HWCDSB.
