A Forge FC’s School Match Day not only gave students a chance to experience professional soccer live, but for several, the day became even more special when their creativity took center stage on the stadium’s jumbo screen.
Students from St. David, St. Michael, St. Ann Hamilton, and St. Patrick Catholic Elementary Schools created player portraits for Forge FC’s roster roll call. As each player was introduced before the match, the student artwork was displayed on the jumbo screen throughout the stadium. Seeing their drawings featured as part of the official game presentation was an exciting moment for the students and a great showcase of their artistic talent.
“One of the most powerful aspects of School Match Day is its ability to bring the community together,” said Equal Opportunities Consultant Nicole Sheehan.
“For many students, this is their first introduction to live sport, and their excitement sets the tone for the entire event. School Match Day is more than just a field trip; it’s a memory they carry with them. The thrill of entering a stadium, cheering for a team, and sharing the experience with classmates creates a lasting impression. We would like to thank Paige Hardie and her team for fostering a true sense of community!”
