Cathedral Gaels are back-to-back Ontario Catholic Classic champions.
Playing at the Denis Morris gym in St. Catharines Saturday, the Gaels downed Oakville's Holy Trinity Titans, 66-54, in the 2026 tournament final.
It was the 49th edition of the annual all-Catholic boys' high school basketball competition.
In semifinal action, the defending Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic league champions topped Milton's St. Francis Xavier Knights, 77-69.
Cathedral's opening-day victories Friday were against Chatham's Ursuline College Lancers (95-71) and then against Brantford's Assumption College Lions (70-52).
Guard Josh Granger-Bigford of the Gaels was selected Most Valuable Player while teammate Quentin O'Connor earned all-star team status.
It was the fifth tournament title of the season for coach Jacob Cordero's Gaels. Previously, they took top honours at the Silver Fox, Pinky Lewis, Mark Walton and Niagara St. Paul's events.
First-place Cathedral begins league playoffs Feb. 9 against the visiting ACMT Jaguars.
