The Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board (HWCDSB) is committed to ensuring that our Catholic schools are Christ-centered communities where the dignity of each student is honoured.
An Anti-Racism Committee (ARC) supports the implementation of the recommendations developed by the Anti-Racism Education Committee (AREC) and reports to the Board of Trustees on the progress of the implementation. We are committed to listening and learning and collaborating with those who have and continue to experience racism.
Parents/Guardians
Parents/guardians with children in Kindergarten to Grade 11 in the HWCDSB who identify as Indigenous, are invited to indicate their interest in participating on the HWCDSB ARC for a term of two years.
In support of this vision, we recognize that our parent/guardian community are critical partners in advancing this system priority. By considering the opportunity to join the Anti-Racism Committee, you will hold an important role in providing advice, and supporting and monitoring the implementation of the recommendations as found in the Anti-Racism Education Committee (AREC) Report: Recommendations to Promote and Strengthen Anti-Racism Education in the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board. We are committed to listening and learning with those who have lived experiences. As we recognize that parent/guardian voices and experiences are impactful in creating a positive difference within our school communities.
