Lent is a sacred season of reflection, renewal, and spiritual growth. As we journey through these forty days leading to Easter, our Catholic school communities are invited to pause, pray, and consider how we can deepen our relationship with God while caring for one another with compassion and kindness.
Rooted in Jesus’ forty days of prayer and fasting in the desert, Lent calls us to focus on three key pillars — prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. These practices help strengthen our faith, nurture meaningful relationships, and prepare our hearts for the celebration of Easter.
Throughout our schools, students of all ages will engage with Lenten themes in ways that are meaningful to them. We will come together in prayer, participate in liturgies, and take part in activities that help us grow in faith throughout this important season.
When is Lent?
Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 18, 2026, and continues until the beginning of the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday evening, April 2, 2026.
In his message for Lent 2026, Pope Leo XIV reminds us us: “Lent is a time in which the Church, guided by a sense of maternal care, invites us to place the mystery of God back in the center of our lives, in order to find renewal in our faith and keep our hearts from being consumed by the anxieties and distractions of daily life.
We invite our students, staff, and families to journey together in prayer, reflection, and acts of kindness throughout this Lenten season.
