Nicky Perri Receives Fr. Angus MacDougall Award
The Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board is pleased to recognize Nicky Perri, Secondary Religion and Family Life Consultant, as the Catholic Association of Religious & Family Life Educators of Ontario (CARFLEO) 2026 recipient of the Father Angus MacDougall Award for Excellence in Family Life Education.
Presented annually, the award recognizes an Ontario Catholic school family life educator who demonstrates excellence in Family Life Education through exceptional contributions at the provincial level, a strong commitment to engaging and supporting student learning, and leadership in advancing effective practices and collaboration among colleagues.
Nicky has embraced her role with enthusiasm and care, drawing on her experience as a classroom teacher to support student engagement and foster collaboration within the Catholic education community. She has also contributed to broader initiatives, including When Faith Meets Pedagogy and the March for Life.
“We are so grateful for the faith, joy, and care Nicky brings to her work each day,” said Mrs. Adele Filice, Superintendent of Education. “It is a privilege to see the way she lives the mission of Catholic education in her service to her team, students, and colleagues.”
