Arts Integration Teacher Alexa Pellegrino to Compete in “Dancing with the Easter Seals Stars”
Arts Integration Teacher Alexa Pellegrino will step into the spotlight on May 1 as a celebrity dancer in Dancing with the Easter Seals Stars, a high-energy fundraising competition supporting Easter Seals and its mission to assist children with physical disabilities.
A dancer since the age of three, Alexa has dedicated her life to the performing arts. Today, she shares that passion with students across the board, teaching drama, music, and dance at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Elementary School, Guardian Angels Catholic Elementary School, Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Elementary School, St. Patrick Catholic Elementary School, and Immaculate Conception Catholic Elementary School. Known for bringing energy and creativity into every classroom, she helps students build confidence, find their voice, and experience the joy of movement and performance.
Now, she is using that lifelong love of dance to support an important cause. Dancing with the Easter Seals Stars pairs local community leaders with professional choreographers for a friendly (but competitive) dance showcase, all in support of children who rely on Easter Seals services.
For more than 95 years, Easter Seals has supported children and youth with physical disabilities by providing essential programs, products, and financial assistance that help them live more independently and participate fully in their communities.
“Every child deserves the opportunity to move, express themselves, and feel included,” Alexa shared. “Dance has shaped my entire life, and I’m honoured to use it to give back to students and families who need this support.”
Funds raised through the event help provide essential equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, and communication devices, ensuring children have the tools they need to thrive.
