St. Lawrence Students Featured in CHCH News for Jamesville Community Art Project
St. Lawrence Catholic Elementary School was recently featured in a CHCH News story about the Jamesville Community Art Project – Connecting the North End through the Arts. This collaborative initiative, led by the Art Gallery of Hamilton in partnership with City Housing Hamilton, the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board, the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, and the North End community, engages students and residents in creating murals and mixed-media art that celebrate the history, diversity, and resilience of Hamilton’s Jamesville neighbourhood.
Artwork created by students from St. Lawrence Catholic Elementary School and Bennetto Public School, supported by AGH artist-educators, will be installed along the James Street redevelopment fencing later this fall, transforming the site into a vibrant community gallery.
