On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, Grade 9 students from Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic secondary schools will have the opportunity to spend the day job shadowing a parent/guardian, relative, or friend as part of Take Our Kids to Work™ (TOKW) day.

Led by The Students Commission of Canada (SCC), Take Our Kids to Work™ is a nationally coordinated experiential learning opportunity for Grade 9 students, offering them the chance to see and explore the world of work. This year’s theme, “Lift Up the Future”, is a call to support young people as they explore their paths and imagine the world they want to build.

Participation at a Workplace
Students and their parent(s)/guardian(s) are responsible for selecting an appropriate workplace and making the arrangements for the student to attend. To participate, a consent form must be completed by a parent/guardian and the student, and then returned to the school.

Participation at School
Grade 9 students not attending a workplace on November 5th will have the opportunity to work through career exploration activities with their teachers in class.
