Immaculate Heart of Mary CES captured the Division II Senior Girls Basketball Championship, capping off an outstanding undefeated season. Their success reflected exceptional teamwork, skill, and determination, and stands as a testament to the pride they bring to their school community. Congratulations to the Hurricanes on a well-earned championship victory.
The Division II final featured two undefeated teams, as Our Lady of Lourdes CES entered the championship game following an impressive season of their own. Lourdes built momentum early with a tournament win at the SJB Invitational, hosted by St. Jean de Brébeuf CSS, and carried that confidence through an undefeated regular season.
Throughout the year, Lourdes established a clear identity—relentless hustle, disciplined defense, and unselfish ball movement. Their strong communication, effective defensive rotations, and commitment to team play propelled them through the playoffs, including a notable semifinal victory over defending champions St. Joseph CES.
Team captain Gabryella Dela Peña played a key role in the team’s success. Her dynamic offensive ability and leadership helped keep the group focused and composed in key moments.
Reaching the finals marked a significant milestone for the Lourdes program—its first championship appearance since 1999. Despite falling short in the final, the team’s determination, sportsmanship, and unity defined a remarkable season.
Across the board, competition was strong. In Division I, St. Matthew CES and Annunciation CES also entered their championship game undefeated. All teams played a five-game regular season and needed at least three wins to advance to their respective finals. St. Matthew CES took home the gold.
