This letter provides important information regarding student transportation for the upcoming school year, including when bus information will be available, how to access it, and other important details.
As drivers, students, and school staff adjust to the new school year, there may be some inconsistencies with pick-up and drop-off times during the start-up period. Most of these issues typically resolve themselves quickly. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this time.
To help minimize delays, please ensure students arrive at their designated bus stop at least 10 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time listed in the Parent Portal.

Opt-Out Form
If your student will not be using school bus transportation, please complete the Opt-Out Form.

Parent Portal
Student transportation information will be available through the Parent Portal beginning Monday, August 24, 2026. When creating a new account, you must use the same email address that was provided to the school during enrollment. The Parent Portal is also used to subscribe to transportation delay and cancellation notifications.
JK/SK Information

First Rider Program
The First Rider Program is available both in person and online. This program helps JK and SK students and their parents become familiar with the school bus environment and safety rules in a fun, interactive way. Click here for program details.
The program will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2026. Ticket and location information.
Courtesy/Empty Seat Requests
Courtesy/Empty Seat assignments will begin in late September or early October. Please note that requests are approved at the school level and families must reapply each school year.
Student Record Changes
HWSTS cannot make changes to student records, including; addresses; phone numbers; email addresses or other student information. To update any student information, please contact your child's school directly.
