Karla Penner, a student at Cathedral Catholic Secondary School, has been recognized as one of this year's "Trail Blazers" at the inaugural City of Hamilton Accessibility Awards. The groundbreaking initiative seeks to honour individuals, groups, and organizations who have made significant contributions to improving accessibility for persons with disabilities.
Karla's mother, speaking proudly of her daughter's achievement, noted, "Cathedral has taught her how to use her voice to create change, to turn her assignments into a passion, and to focus her work and dedication by following Christ. She has the best interest of EVERYONE in her mind always."
Karla’s recognition is a testament to the vision, commitment, and gift of service demonstrated by students across the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board, as they continue to inspire others and lead by example in their communities.
