St. James Hosts Special Olympics

On June 18, St. James the Apostle Catholic Elementary School proudly hosted the Special Olympics: a day filled with joy, energy and unforgettable memories.
Organized by Special Education Resource Teacher Antonella Gattulli and Principal Elena Minicucci, students took part in a range of fun and inclusive activities, from football throwing and cornhole to basketball and soccer. Outside, the excitement continued with a bocce competition that kept spirits high.
“The joy and energy were contagious, one student even said, ‘It was the best day ever,’” shared Gattulli.
“St. James the Apostle is thankful to the Special Olympics for organizing this event and helping all our students feel included, but overall that they all had fun!”
