St. Teresa of Calcutta Walks with Christ

"A joyful heart is like the sunshine of God's love, the hope of eternal happiness." - St. Teresa of Calcutta
In a powerful display of unity and purpose, students and staff from St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Elementary School set off on a school-wide pilgrimage walk, blending spiritual reflection with social action.
This year marked the first time since its inception that the annual pilgrimage event was held at each school site, allowing every student to participate, noted Principal Jeffrey Zwolak.
“We decided to come together today as a whole school to publicly demonstrate our mission as pilgrims of hope to our local community,” teacher organizer Diana Rossini.
Armed with their school banner and cross, students and staff set foot around the neighbourhood, proudly displaying faith in action.
“With St. Teresa as our leader, we wanted to give our students the experience of the depth of God's love as we join in solidarity and deepen our faith each time we gather together in His name.”
Since 2003 the annual walk has raised close to $800,000 in support of development projects in communities in Haiti, Uganda and the Dominican Republic, as well as Catholic development organizations.
New this year, staff and students were also encouraged to wear green for “Wear Green for Hope Day” on April 30th as a visual reminder of the pilgrimage's mission.
