KennishiaKennishia Boahene-Larry serves as the System Equity Officer for the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board (HWCDSB) where she actively promotes and supports the board’s commitment to honoring the dignity of all individuals. Through her efforts, she strives to ensure that the distinct lived experiences and voices of our HWCDSB community are celebrated, honoured and empowered within our school system. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Political Science with a minor in Peace Studies and a Master of Arts in Peace and Conflict Resolution.

Mrs. Boahene-Larry’s primary role is to identify, assess and collaborate to develop board-wide responses to systemic gaps that create barriers for student, staff, families and community members. On a systems level, she provides strategic advice, consultations and support to senior administration and staff. She provides recommendations and advice for HWCDSB policies, procedures and protocols; develops and delivers professional development to strengthen competency on issues related to equity and cultural proficiency. In addition, she also collaborates with staff to implement core ministry priorities through out the HWCDSB.

Chantara

Chantara Leistner serves as the Early Resolutions Advisor for the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board (HWCDSB). In her role, Mrs. Leistner is a resource and support for students and parents/guardians, facilitating constructive dialogue and restoration in matters pertaining to dignity of each individual, Mrs. Leistner possesses an Honours B.A. in Child and Youth Studies and a Post-Graduate Certification in Alternative Dispute Resolution, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of the barriers and challenges encountered by children, youth, and their families.

Mrs. Leistner supports the Mission and Vision of the HWCDSB, as well as the HWCDSB philosophy of Each Belongs. She is the contact within the Dignity of the Human Person Equity Office for equity concern, incident reporting and trend analysis to proactively address support needs. Her training in serving vulnerable populations, navigating complex power dynamics, and community mediation informs her approach to conflict resolution, emphasizing healing, the inherent dignity of every individual, and the importance of ensuring that all voices are heard and respected while ensuring adherence to the protected grounds of the Ontario Human Rights Code.
