“It is finished.”
Jesus, arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane the night before, is condemned to death by crucifixion. Mocked, beaten and crowned with thorns, he is led through the streets of Calvary under the crushing weight of his cross. At Golgotha, Jesus is stripped and crucified.
On Good Friday, we remember the day Jesus willingly suffered and died for us on the cross as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins.
Good Friday is a Statutory Holiday. Schools and offices will be closed on Good Friday, March 29 and Easter Monday, April 1.
