We are advising that out of an abundance of caution, Bishop Tonnos Catholic Secondary School has entered a Hold and Secure in response to a concerning phone call made to the school. A Hold and Secure response requires the building to be secured and all persons to remain in the school. Regular activity within the building will continue.

In the four weeks leading up to Christmas, we participate in Advent to prepare our hearts and minds for the celebration of our Saviour’s birth. Traditionally, each week focuses on a different theme: hope, peace, joy, and love.

Friends, we come to the First Sunday of Advent—the liturgical new year. I've said this before, but Advent is a time to get back to basics. Can I suggest we start with that familiar Advent hymn, “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel”?

A new inclusive model implemented at the Jeanne Scott Parent and Child Resource Centre is ensuring all young parents have access to education and support. In partnership with the Good Shepherd Centres Hamilton, the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board operates the Jeanne Scott Parent & Child Resource Centre, an adult credit school for young parents aged 18-25 who are working towards completing their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

The scene was Cathedral High School Saturday afternoon and the Gaels had just defeated the St. John Henry Newman Cardinals 81-43 to capture the 2023 OFSAA girls’ AAA title.

Friends, Christ is the King of all things. His rule is characterized not by totalitarianism or despotism, but rather by loving kindness and sacrifice. He constantly reaches out his hands to defend the weak and sick, going to the limits of godforsakenness to bring back those who have wandered.
