St. Marguerite d'Youville Catholic Elementary School Celebrates Holy Thursday with Prayer and Reflection
Last week, St. Marguerite d'Youville Catholic Elementary School observed Holy Thursday with a series of ceremonies and reflective activities, marking the commencement of the Easter Triduum. The day began with a Prayer Service and Stations of the Cross, attended by students, staff and families alike, with the assembly led by the Grade 8 students. As the Stations of the Cross were solemnly reflected on, the school community had the opportunity to journey alongside Jesus in his final hours, contemplating the depth of his sacrifice.
Following the morning assembly, all classes shared in a bread-eating ceremony, symbolizing the Last Supper. Notably, the bread for this special ceremony was lovingly prepared by retired Custodian Mrs. Paiva, who has generously provided it to the school for years. This gesture of kindness added a special touch to the event, underscoring the spirit of community and tradition at St. Marguerite d'Youville Catholic Elementary School.
Afterward, St. Marguerite d'Youville Catholic Elementary School continued its observance of Holy Thursday with an afternoon spiritual walk through the neighborhood. Each class carried a cross, symbolizing Jesus' journey to Calvary, as they reflected on the profound meaning of His passion and resurrection.
